Vaccination for under 45 years age group: J&K achieves 100 percent target | KNO

Srinagar, July 5 (KNO): In a major development, four districts in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have achieved the target of hundred percent vaccination of first dose of the people falling under the age group of 45 years and above. With Rajouri, Budgam, Bandipora and Baramulla districts, which have achieved hundred percent vaccinations, Jammu and Kashmir has now eight districts which have achieved the target of completing the first jab Covid-19 vaccination. Earlier, districts of Jammu, Samba, Ganderbal and Shopian which have already achieved the hundred percent vaccination of first dose to its people. According to the News Agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the official figures reveal that the total numbers of Covid-19 vaccinations administered to the people of Jammu and Kashmir are above 48 lakh and about 50 thousand people of different age categories got their jab on Monday alone. In Jammu and Kashmir 40,94,482 people are inoculated with the Dose-I of the Covid-19 vaccine and 7,69,655 people have got their Dose-II of the vaccination till date. Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha on Friday also directed that the districts which have achieved more than ninety percent vaccination to cover the target of hundred percent within next three days. LG also directed the District Commissioners and health authorities to ensure that the priority age group is fully vaccinated within a week and also directed for ensuring that 30 percent of the population falling under the 18-44 age group is inoculated with the first dose by July 15—(KNO)
